Dear Mariners
Assalamualikum & Good Day

Asking for help from BMMOA regarding issues like crew change,
repatriation, overdue contract, insurance, and salary, has been
amplified a lot. For lodging support to your legitimate causes, please
send an e-mail to BMMOA with the below information from the email of ITF
which has been stated in the lower part of this status. We have
successfully repatriated 8 cases till now in 2022 from which at least 30
Bangladeshi seafarers were involved, most of whom were not our members.

Please note without the UNION letter the supports are very difficult to
proceed with, which means if you are not a BMMOA member, for BMMOA it
will be very tough to fight for you. However, we are accepting the
appeal from all corners even from ratings but as time has passed the
number of complaints has increased; we will give priority to our members
over others.

The below email from ITF ( which BMMOA received while dealing with the
issues of  Non-member) also echoed the same which means requests from
the union spokesman will be always a priority over your individual email
to ITF.

Thank you for contacting the ITF Seafarers’ Support team. We acknowledge
receipt of your email, which will be looked at by one of the team as
soon as possible, however, if you have not already, please ensure you
provide the following information which will help us to deal with your
issue more effectively:
• Your (name, rank, nationality)
• Your ship (name, flag, IMO number, ship type)
• Your location (current port, sail date, next port, ETA)
• Your problem (brief description)
• Your contact details (phone number, email address)

Please also note:
• We receive hundreds of emails from seafarers every day and emailing us
and many other people only causes confusion as to who will look at your
issue.
• If you have emailed us, please do not email any other ITF departments
or ITF inspectors
• We may have to pass on your request for assistance to an
ITF-affiliated union if necessary
We will deal with your request for assistance in an honest and
transparent process
In solidarity
