4 decades of unplanned shipbreaking taking toll on agriculture in Sitakunda

For the last few years there has been a marked decrease in yield in agricultural land surrounding the Sitakunda shipbreaking yard in Chattogram. Local farmers have complained that most of the flowers in vegetable farms of the area are falling off before harvest time.
