The following message from Captain Zillur Rahman Bhuiyan (11 N) summarizes the details about the death of Captain Nahid and serious injury to Captain Nikhil.

Inna Lillahi WaInna Ilaihi Rajiun 

Capt. Nahid and Capt. Nikhil were returning to Khulna in a car in the early morning of  27 MAR 2021 after attending a survey at the port of Payra.

While near Gopalganj, a tyre of the car got punctured and the car hit a roadside tree at high speed.  Capt. Nahid and Capt. Nikhil were seated in the back seat of the car and both of them suffered injury. They were immediately admitted to the Gopalganj General Hospital and then were taken to Khulna Medical College Hospital. 

Capt. Nikhil sustained head and hand injury. After several stitches on the head and forehead he is conscious and stable. His head CT scan will be done today for further investigation.

Capt. Nahid was also admitted in the same hospital and afterwards at the recommendation of doctors he was being taken to Dhaka last night (27 MAR 2021) in a road ambulance with paramedics and medical aids, for carrying out MRI and further treatment . Getting an air ambulance from Dhaka was not possible due to Modi’s air movement between Satkhira, Gopalganj and Dhaka. 

After arrival at the Square Hospital at Dhaka around 0300 this morning (28 MAR 2021) the doctors pronounced Capt. Nahid dead and he passed away on the way before arrival at the hospital. 

The dead body is now being taken to Khulna this morning and expected to arrive at Khulna by 1100 hours today (28 MAR 2021).

Capt. Nahid has left behind the wife, one son just passed HSC and one daughter an SSC candidate. His parents are alive and live in Morelganj. His residence is at Nirala Residential Area, Khulna.

May Allah forgive Nahid and grant him Jannat.
